Quetta: An explosion took place near a checkpoint in the Joint Road in Quetta on Saturday morning, killing one security guard and wounding three others,
The bomb, planted near the post of Frontier Corps (FC) Control the shot early Saturday when soldiers arrived at the scene for daily service in Quetta, capital of Baluchistan province’s rich oil and gas, senior police official Abdul Waheed Khattak He told AFP.
“It was an IED (improvised explosive device) exploded when soldiers arrived at the checkpoint,” Khattak said.
He said the blast killed one soldier and wounded four others, including a teenager passing the site at the time of the explosion.
“(The) condition of the other soldier is also essential,” Khattak said.
Sajjad Ahmad, a senior official of FC, confirmed the attack and casualties.
