ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz PM to visit Turkmenistan on December 12 and 13 at the invitation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
He will attend the International Conference held in Ashgabat to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
A number of Heads of State and Government have confirmed their attendance at the Conference. During the visit, the Prime Minister also participate in the ground breaking ceremony of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project with Turkmenistan and Afghanistan President and Vice President of India.
Prime Minister to visit China
The prime minister then lead a delegation of Pakistan to the Heads of Government of the Meeting of the Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Zhengzhou, China, on 14 and 15 December.
SCO was founded in Shanghai in 2001. Its member states are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Pakistan was invited to become a full member of the SCO Heads of State Summit in July 2015 in Ufa.
Spokesman of Foreign Ministry in a statement said Pakistan is completing the relevant procedures to become a full member of the SCO and is coordinating efforts with the Secretariat of the SCO and the founding of the SCO member countries in this regard.
