PM Sharif says no compromise on Karachi peace

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Monday that the government would not make any commitment to achieving peace in the metropolitan city.

Speaking at a meeting of high-level security at the Governor House in Karachi, the prime minister said that the objectives of the current operation are clear, and added that all out efforts would be made to maintain peace in Karachi.

Commending the efforts of the security institutions “in the fight against crimes in the country’s largest city, Sharif said people of Karachi are satisfied with the operation.

He said the federal government extends full support to the provincial government to achieve the objectives of the operation.
